Speaking & Keynotes
speaking engagements
A talk that doesn't talk around the hard parts
My speaking work is distinct from my performance. Where a reading is felt first, a keynote or panel talk moves through ideas — still grounded in personal experience, but shaped for a room that came to think, not just to be moved.
I speak to conferences, corporate audiences, and community organizations on themes of healing, identity, creative resilience, and truth-telling. My approach is rigorous and specific — I don't trade in inspiration without substance.
I can serve as an opening keynote, a closing speaker, a panelist, or a facilitator. I work with your organizers in advance to understand the audience and shape the talk accordingly.
Formats
Opening or closing keynote (30–60 min)
Panel presentation or moderated conversation
Breakout session or workshop track
Community town hall or listening session
Starting at $500
Rate scales with event size, talk length, and travel. I'll discuss the scope before finalizing a fee — corporate and conference rates typically run higher than community-based events.

Topics & Themes
Healing and Storytelling
How narrative — told honestly and in community — is itself a healing act. Personal and political.
Trauma, Resilience, and Creative Survival
What it means to make art from difficult experience, and why that work matters beyond the maker.
Indigenous Identity and Truth-Telling
Specificity over abstraction. I speak from Yankton, Crow Creek, and Oglala descent — my own, not a generalized 'Indigenous experience.'
Finding Your Voice
For organizations that want to connect creative expression to professional development or community-building.
Poetry as Access and Equity
How the form has been and can be a tool for people who've been excluded from dominant cultural narratives.
If your event has a specific theme not listed here, mention it in your inquiry — I regularly develop new talks for specific contexts.
