Workshops & Residencies

what to expect

Poetry that opens something up

My workshops go beyond craft instruction. They create space for participants to find and use their own voice — especially people who've been told their story doesn't count. I work in writing, performance, and reflection, weaving them together into sessions that participants leave differently than they walked in.

A single session can stand alone as a powerful introduction to spoken word. Multi-week residencies go deeper — building community around writing, rehearsing performance, and ending in a culminating reading. I adapt to the group, the setting, and the goals.

I work with survivors, students, elders, incarcerated people, young people in crisis, and everyone in between. The work is trauma-informed, grounded, and real.

This is an opening number, not a fixed quote. I scope each engagement — group size, number of sessions, travel needs — before settling on a final fee. Out-of-state travel is fully available and won't automatically price you out.

Based in Minnesota. Available regionally and nationally — I actively enjoy performing and teaching in new places.
